Mike was at Spring Park with me as well as his two sisters. The three were MAB, JAB, and CAB. (Their mother put their initials on all their stuff.) One true anecdote: Mike and I were hunting ducks in a pond where the TPC is today. I heard and felt a shotgun blast behind me, looking left maybe 5 feet to see a big moccasin slide dead off a log. After Mike became a broker, I opened an account with his firm. Sometime later, he urged me to buy one share of Berkshire-Hathaway. I thought more than $3,000 was crazy for one share of anything, so you can guess….. Whenever I had business in Jacksonville, Mike would invite me to lunch – The River Club I believe – No one I’ve ever been close to deserved success more than Mike.
