For some reason I have been thinking about Pete since hearing of the reunion.  He was one of the true "characters" of our class.  My favorite story of Pete occurred during a history class as we were discussing the cold war threat of a nuclear attack.  The teacher asked what you should do if you heard an attack was imminent and Pete's response was "scramble!!", but said with his lisp.  Cracked up the whole class.

I'm so sorry to hear he is no longer with us. Rest in peace, Pete.

We civilians can never know what kind of demons torture men in war, and surely one of them got to Peter. I remember him best arriving in my mother's driveway one day in 1961 in his white Jaguar. (Maybe it was actually his mother's car), but he was proud to show me all its features. It was a happy day for him before Vietnam.

Dear Bill Degrove. Happy Birthday and many more to you. I am heartened to read your comments about Pete Supove. He was a precious person and a breath of fresh air. We all were blessed to have known such a kind soul.

Peter Supove,, was one of the nicest guys in our class. Always smiling in a rye sort of way. Great understated sense of humor. I am truly sorry. He did not live long enough to appreciate some of the most recent reunions. We all have demons that have affected our lives. I hope Peter found some peace in the afterlife

Peter and I went to Daytona for the races just before he died.  He was very disturbed and couldn't sleep and had taken up smoking.  Vietnam had a terrible impact on him.  I wish I could have reached out more or knew how to help him overcome the demons.  Such a shame.
