55th Reunion

Event Details

Dear folks:

Through the extraordinary efforts of William Harrell, we have reserved the San Jose Country Club for Saturday evening, June 11th for our 55th Landon Class of 1961 reunion.  The change in venue was exercised in order to allow more local participation and reduce the cost from our extravagant but otherwise bachanalian  50th.  William has also made arrangements for out-of-towners at the Hilton Garden Inn on the Southbank.  Details are below

In the past we have had a rockin' band, but in our maturity, the committee suggested a  more

relaxed atmosphere more conducive to renewing old friendships and drooling on our lapels.  There will be light music for dancing provided by Roger Glover, The River City Music man.

Once again we will have an AV program of images from the past.  Anyone with both current and period photos can e-mail them to Bill Warner at wc.warner@comcast.net, and they will be part of the program.

RACING

For those who are more adventurous and find that golf is a game that ruins a nice walk in the woods, I have arranged for a racing challenge at the Autobahn Indoor Kart Track off Phillips Highway.  For          $ 50.00, each, we can have two fourteen lap races and unlike the golfers, the winner will get a cheap vacuum plated trophy suitable for display in your closet for the rest of your life.  Those who think they can out drive a 73 year old veteran of 39 years of racing should enter.   No ringers allowed and wives under 150 lbs. need not apply.  You can reserve your spot in racing history by e-mailing me at wc.warner@comcast.net.

FISHING

For those grads who wish to catch their dinner, Bill Miler has gratioulsy offered to take a party out for some offshore fishing on the "Miller Time".  If anyone can find the King Fish, it is Bill.  For details contact him at millerauger@comcast.net;

With the help of several classmate/sponsors, we have kept the inclusive charge of Saturday night to $65.00 per person.   As the years roll by, the number of remaining reunions is limited and it is important to reflect on just how far we have come since 1961 and share our experiences with our classmates. So plan on attending the 55th, if for no other reason to relax with old friends.
