Comments:

The 50th reunion was my first! It's about time! It's been a very busy 50 years! It was so much fun, I am back for the 55th.

We lived in the Atlanta area till '78, when we moved to El Paso, Texas, then to Colorado in '98. Three of our four kids (and two grands next door) were there, with one still in Texas (nice warm place to go in the winter and four grands). So in 2014 all but the youngest moved to New Braunfels, Texas. Now only the youngest is in Colorado, and the rest of us live within three miles of each other. We love it, and don't miss the ice and hard winters at all.

After Mercer University, where I met my husband, I taught preschool through post-secondary medical and legal students, and subbeds at our church academy. With PBS, Time Warner, and a family literacy grant in El Paso, I was Public Access Coordinator (part-time) at a local TV station since '98 and
loved it. I work helped about 50 folks make their own programs that we broadcast on Channel 8.

I was active at our church, played for all the Spanish services, was in choir, had many friends, and spent lots of time with my family. My husband passed away in 2009 after a terrific 45-year marriage. We lived on 35 acres in the country, with beautiful views of the Rockies and a bunch of two-and four-footed friends. Now we are in town, and it's nice to have neighbors and be no more than five minutes from everything.
I am in church choir, Community Chorale, tutor little guys in reading, counsel several adult spouses dealing with dementia and Alzheimers or parents dealing with ADHD, and serve as chauffeur for the five grandkids---three in sports and two in music activities. The oldest graduated from 'Bama recently with a B.S. in Marine Biology and Conservation; she will be at Duke in NC for grad school.
I am spending the summer traveling all over the South and West, am into genealogy research, which has resulted in many new friends and places. If I'd died yesterday, it would have been a terrific life, but I'm always looking forward to tomorrow!

We were 30 miles north of Denver, 30 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park, and now are about halfway between Austin snd San Antonio, just off I-35. Schlitterbahn, the world's largest water park, is five minutes away, so if you come this way, you are welcome to stay with me!

There are still places I'd like to go, things I'd like to do, and old and new friends I'd like to meet, starting with the 55th reunion!

See you there!

School Story:

Band was just a hoot---musically and socially. We have talked about having a band reunion, but that might be tricky. From Spring Park, Annie Lytle, and Landon, there are many funny stories, and murder is the only crime without an expiration, so I'll let sleeping dogs keep on sleeping.
I guess the trip to the Mardi Gras was the big event of high school, but I enjoyed all of it. Looking back, we got a good education and had a lot of fun. Except for that Senior Day Kingsley Lake thing. (I wasn't there!)

Education after Landon

Mercer University in Macon, B.A. in Psychology-Sociology-Education. Christian Counseling later.

Tell us about what you've been doing, i.e. hobbies, community service, business, travel.

Think I put too much information in the first box! I enjoy gardening, crafts, doing things with the grandkids, traveling, helping people, counseling young women, teaching Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University, tutoring teens for their ACE/SAT/ASFAB; music is still a big part of my life, and I set up a library for our Academy in CO. I'm always open to new opportunities and ways to serve the Lord!

Lessons learned since June 1961.

Wish I'd paid more attention in class and taken Geometry. Wish I'd handled money better in the early days---anybody join me in that one???? And wish I hadnt slept through Chords in music so I could modulate between keys easier. But friends and family are still better than money. God has been very good to me and He is always faithful, even when I'm not.

How interesting and happy your life has been and will be, Connie! Congratulations and happy birthday today!
Hope you can make the next reunion---the 50th was my first and we had a blast! Big contest was, "Who has the most stents?" True geezer contest! Whitney Thompson won with 11.

Happy birthday a day late, Linda!
Many of my good memories growing up
involve you---skating (on Drexel Street and at
Skateland), riding bikes, going to Mayfair, and
lots if others, like your Mama and her sisters
quilting together out under tthe trees. She'd
be surprised to know that one of my daughters
managed a quilting store in Denver, now works
at a quilt shop in Texas, and really enjoys quilting.
i might be Southern but dont have that kind of
patience. Hope you had a good birthday and you
dont look any older than when we were kids!
Love you, Neighbor! Diane

Congrats on those two second-place wins, then turn around and look at all those young whippersnappers you beat! Why, some of them are old enough to be your---uh, younger brothers!

A new use for Pampers! We were at Rocky Mountain National Park when a shower came up and I didn't want my new camera to get wet, so. . . It worked great!
