Howard and I have been married for 45 years. We lived in Lakeland, Florida for thirty years - then returned "home" to Ponte Vedra Beach, where we have lived for the past 15 years.

While my classmates were happy to have me in their study groups, no one seemed eager to have me on their team during PE. My friend, Rita, picked me out of "pity". After moving back, I saw Miss Breed and said, "I'm still not good at sports." She said, "At least you tried!" If that was supposed to make me feel better - I'm not sure it worked. While Rita will be playing in the golf tournament, I'll be "powdering my nose". Some things never change!

Attended the University of Florida and took many additional courses ( Real Estate, Psychology, etc.) while living in Lakeland.

In earlier years, I enjoyed volunteer work and tennis, but since retiring, it's card games (among other social activities), walking, reading, and travel that keeps me busy. Our children and grandchildren are our greatest pleasure. I have probably been of no great "service" to my country, but my husband is a retired Navy Commander and my son is currently a Captain in the Navy.

While preparing for a trip to France, I thought about my French teacher, Madame Alexander, and how much I appreciate all that she taught me during my years at Landon. I'm sure I showed little gratitude at the time. What we take for granted when we're young, we treasure as we get older.
